Sonali Intellect Limited, a financial technology solution provider, was incorporated as a joint venture company in 2012 by Sonali Bank and Intellect to deliver high-quality IT solutions. Sonali Intellect Limited provides cutting-edge financial technology solutions to the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance sectors in Bangladesh.

Sonali Intellect Limited offers a wide range of product solutions that cater to various banking needs, including Core Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, Cash/Liquidity Management, Supply Chain Finance, Cards Management, Brokerage, and Wealth Management. Each of these solutions is enterprise-ready and can be deployed independently, with or without a core banking system as the backend.

The company has adopted best practices in software product development, delivery, and implementation, backed by global experience and world-class management practices. Sonali Intellect Limited operates a full-fledged development and support center in Bangladesh, staffed by experienced local resources. This enables the company to provide world-class solutions and support services to its customers in Bangladesh. Sonali Intellect is leading the modernization of the largest bank in Bangladesh—Sonali Bank Limited, along with Rupali Bank Limited.

Raju Daryani

Chairman

Mr. Raju Daryani is the Business Head, Digital Core, iGCB of Intellect Design Arena. He is a banking specialist with more than 30 years of experience in the Financial Software Industry, with a focus on Business Development, Profit & Loss Management, and Partnership Development.

Previously, he held numerous executive roles at global corporations such as Temenos, Finastra, and Fidelity Information Services. He was also part of the Management Board of Temenos.

Md. Shawkat Ali Khan

Director

Mr. Shawkat is serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Sonali Intellect Limited.

With 26 years of banking experience, Md. Shawkat Ali Khan brings expertise across various departments, including Administration & HR, Industrial Credit, General Credit & SME, Agro and Rural Credit, Micro Credit, Foreign Trade Finance, Home Loan, Anti-Money Laundering, ICT, and Legal Affairs. His leadership roles have included serving as CAMLCO, CFO, and CRO within these departments.

He began his career as a Senior Officer in Rupali Bank PLC in 1998, selected by the Bankers’ Recruitment Committee (BRC). Khan holds a BSc (Honours) and MSc in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University and an MBA in Banking from the University of Dhaka. Among his achievements, he was recognized with a letter of appreciation for his significant contributions to formulating the home loan policy for government employees under the Ministry of Finance.

Ramanan SV

Director

S V Ramanan is serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Sonali Intellect Limited.

Ramanan is CEO, India and South Asia, at Intellect Design Arena. His responsibility also includes monetization of strategic assets at Intellect.

Ramanan comes with 25 years of experience in various capacities across General Management, Six Sigma, Project Management. Ramanan is an Electrical & Electronics Engineer and has done his MBA from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He is also a Master Black Belt, Six Sigma. Ramanan’s experience cuts across leading organisations like Siemens, GE, Accenture, and Bharti Airtel.

Ramanan prior to joining Intellect was CEO, CAMS Insurance Repository Services Ltd (CAMSRep) where he helped IRDAI ( Indian Insurance Regulator) conceptualize the Insurance Repository System. CAMSRep is a market leader with over 56% market share in a four players Insurance Repository market. He has been a Member of Insurance Advisory Committee of IRDAI and participated in various Industry forum like Assocham, FICCI, CII.

Professor Mohammad Kaykobad

independent director

He is a computer scientist, educator, author, and columnist from Bangladesh. Along with Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, he started the national mathematics Olympiad. Currently he is a professor of computer science and engineering in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.

Mr. Kaykobad served as an adviser to ICT Projects for e-Governance in Bangladesh. He was awarded the Gold Medal for contribution in ICT Education at a ceremony at Bangabandhu International Conference Center by Bangladesh Computer Society and was presented the award by the President of Bangladesh on 26 July 2005. He was recognized as the best coach of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest by IBM at 26th World Finals of ACM ICPC at Honolulu, Hawaii on 22 March 2002. He researched the Computerization of class scheduling of different universities of Bangladesh which was submitted to University Grants Commission in 1995. He is a Member of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences.

S. M. Jahangir Akhter is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sonali Intellect Limited joined in February 02, 2021. Prior to this, he was serving Bangladesh Commerce Bank as Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP).

He is having more than 32 years of experience with Pubali Bank, Bank Asia, Dutch-Bangla Bank & Sonali Bank.

Mr. Jahangir has completed his B.Sc & M.Sc in Applied Physics & Electronics from University of Rajshahi.

Md. Zahidul Islam

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Md. Zahidul Islam is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sonali Intellect Limited joined in October 01, 2021.

Prior joining as COO he was Vice President & Head of Product Delivery of Sonali Intellect Limited. As VP & Head of Product Delivery, he has outstanding contribution to the growth and expansion plans of the company for last 8 (eight) years. He led the most complex and huge core banking implementation project of the country in Sonali Bank Ltd.

Mr. Zahid has completed his BBA & MBA Majoring in Finance from International Islamic University, Kualalumpur, Malaysia and IBA, Dhaka University. He has 22 years of professional experience of which 18 plus years in working with reputed Global Core Banking System like MISYS (Equation), Temenos (T24) and Intellect Core Banking System.
